An expedition to observe and document the massive annual grouper spawning aggregation in Fakarava, Tahiti with the crew of Unique Dive Expeditions, Palau and 22 DEGREES. Based on the experience of discovering the timing of the grouper spawning aggregation in Ulong Channel, Palau. The U.D.E. team led by Richard Barnden and Paul Collins was able to work out the correct timing of the Tahiti spawning through a disciplined and informed process.

Founded in Palau , 22 DEGREES is a diving gear and apparel brand that features a jacket made of neoprene designed specifically for people who work on the ocean. The latest iteration features eco innovating neoprene made from post production scraps and recycled tires, and was featured on www.uncrate.com.

In addition, Rick helped document Kathryn Berry's study of micro-plastics presence in the Maldives. Rick works as a photographer, designer and ambassador for The Hydrous team.
